Only Smart-Energy PDU on the Market With Low and High Voltage Power, and Control

RICHARDSON, Texas - January 19, 2011 - AMX®, the leading provider of solutions that simplify the implementation, maintenance, and use of technology to create effective environments, announced today its NetLinx® Power Distribution Unit (NXA-PDU-1508-8) has been honored as one of the 2011 Products of the Year by Electronic House magazine. Winners of the award were chosen by a panel of industry experts, integrators and the editors of Electronic House to join an exclusive group of products deemed the most noteworthy for 2011, according to the publication.

The unique Power Distribution Unit (PDU) is a native-NetLinx device that combines power management and remote access/control into one device. By managing power delivery, the PDU monitors energy consumption of each connected component and can restrict power to any or all devices when not in use. Plus, the PDU adds a new level of control at the rack by allowing remote reset of devices, reducing the need to send staff to a customer site.

"AMX is firmly committed to providing innovative ways to monitor energy efficiency and environmentally safe systems and this award is evidence the marketplace recognizes AMX as that innovator," said AMX Chief Technology Officer Robert Noble. "The PDU is an exciting, new solution that offers a more complete approach to energy management, starting at the rack and the resources our integrators expend managing and integrating devices within the rack."

"The PDU was engineered to address the important and escalating concern from the marketplace of energy management," said Doug Hall, AMX Product Manager. "The PDU is the first and only power distribution unit on the market - specifically designed for the AV market - delivering the perfect AV/IT power management strip for every rack."

With 8 individually monitored and controlled AC outlets, built-in 12-Volt power supply, 2 sets of 4 AxLink Bus Strips, power monitoring for each outlet, plus a temperature sensor, the PDU combines power supply and power distribution into one device saving equipment and installation costs. Native NetLinx control over AxLink integrates the PDU with AMX Control systems and Resource Management Suite (RMS).

The PDU delivers flexibility of installation as well as operation as it supports U.S. and international voltage standards and provides dealers a simple method to offer their customers an energy-saving solution.

Electronic House announced the Products of the Year winners January 6, 2011, at CES.
