The Atlas Sound AM1200 Self-Contained Masking System

PHOENIX, AZ– Atlas Sound and the Mitek Electronics and Communications Group continues to lead the industry in simple solutions for speech privacy and sound masking with the announcement of the AM1200 Self-Contained Masking System.

Debuting at this year’s InfoComm show, the AM1200 Sound Masking System features a compact enclosure utilizing two efficient wide range 2" x 4" speakers that are powered by an internal 12W amplifier. Selectable white and pink analog sources are incorporated to allow maximum masking design flexibility and a variable high cut filter contours the masking noise to the appropriate environment. The AM1200 also features an external 12 Watt 70.7V amplifier output to drive other 70.7V speakers, such as the Atlas Sound M2000-SM transducer, making it ideal for small installations that require a self-contained masking system. Four mounting holes on the chassis allow for installation flexibility as the AM1200 can be mounted to the wall or ceiling, or if you need a single suspension point, two removable hanger brackets are included.

“The AM1200 is all you need to provide audio isolation and speech confidentiality,” said Steve Young, VP of Sales and Marketing for Atlas Sound, “It is ideal for smaller open and partitioned office areas as it provides acoustic privacy and reduced distractions for noise in a self-contained, easy to install system.”

The AM1200 is just one of the new sound masking products from Atlas Sound at this year’s InfoComm show, with new generators and firmware updates also being added to the Atlas speech privacy line. In addition to the increased product offering, Atlas has taken an active approach to educating on the proper design and use of sound masking with a recently released book on the subject by industry expert Dr. Robert Chanaud and by teaching an InfoComm Academy course at this year’s conference.
