Broadata Communications Introduces New Product for Cost Savings of up to 80% in Deploying Fiber Optic HD-SDI or SDI Video Transmission and Switching Applications

The BCI 1800 series, is a high performance fiber optic digital video switching converter system, specifically designed to work with HD-SDI or SDI Matrix Routers. The 1800 series provides protocol independent digital video signal conversion to transform copper based audio/video routing switches into true optical switches. As a result, fiber optic switching systems can be constructed with a much lower cost budget, when compared with conventional optical switching routers.

Torrance, CA, (PRWEB) March 26, 2007 - Broadata Communications, Inc. (BCI) announces the release of the new 1800 series, a high performance Fiber Optic Digital Video Switching Converter System. Specifically designed to work with HD-SDI or SDI Matrix Routers, the 1800 series provides protocol independent digital video signal conversion to transform copper based audio/video routing switches into true optical switches. As a result, fiber optic switching systems can be constructed with a much lower cost budget, when compared with conventional optical switching routers. The 1800 units will interface with any brand of HD-SDI or SDI matrix routers, including, but not limited to Extron, Network Electronics, Evertz, AutoPatch/AMC, Utah Scientific, PESA, Sierra Video/Kramer Electronics, Sigma, and many others.

In addition, the 1800 can replace the conventional deployment methodology using point-to-point fiber optic HD-SDI or SDI converters for electrical-to-optical or optical-to-electric conversion. With the new 1800 deployment approach, one can save up to 80% equipment cost for the same HD-SDI or SDI transmission and switching applications. Dr. Freddie Lin, CEO and President of BCI stated, "The 1800 product is a revolutionary product line to significantly reduce overall system cost in fiber optic based digital video transmission and switching installations in broadcast, pro-AV, and the digital signage market". He further stated, an "80% cost savings means one can obtain a back-up (for fault- tolerance protection) digital video transmission and switching system almost for free".

Broadata Communications, Inc. (BCI) develops manufactures, and markets leading edge, fiber optic, multimedia communication products. The company's patented products include audio, video, and data delivery over optical fiber for advanced multimedia, broadcast, and network transmission applications. BCI's multimedia platforms enable end-users to implement multiple applications, conventionally requiring multiple optical transceivers and fiber links over a unified platform, needing only a single optical link.
