Broadcast Pix's Slate 5000 2 M/E Live Integrated Production System Wins Broadcast Engineering's Pick Hit Award

Billerica, Massachusetts (May 1, 2008) Broadcast PixTM, the company that redefined the production switcher as a live integrated production system, has received Broadcast Engineering's Pick Hit Award for its new Slate 5000 HD/SD Switcher, which was introduced for the first time at the annual National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Show, held April 14-17, 2008. Broadcast Pix, along with other winners of the Pick Hit Award will be featured in the June 2008 issue of Broadcast Engineering. Broadcast Engineering's Pick Hit Awards are the industry's longest running new technology awards. They are presented in recognition of the innovative technology developed and shown at NAB.

The Slate 5000 is the industry's first live production system to integrate 2 M/E functionality. It allows a single operator to run all aspects of a sophisticated 2 M/E live HDTV production, including complex graphics, animations, clips and effects, as well as control robotic cameras, audio mixers, and video servers. The Slate 5000 includes and integrates all of the functionality of an entire live production control room-switcher, CG, clips store, still store, multi-view monitoring, aspect ratio and format conversion, and video routing. It provides a dramatic improvement over conventional 2 M/E control rooms which typically cost three times as much to buy and three times as much to staff.

About Broadcast Pix Broadcast Pix is the leader in integrated live television production systems that are more powerful, easier to use, and far more cost effective than a traditional control room of individual components. Broadcast Pix Slate switchers streamline workflow with edit bays, and enable a single operator or small team to create compelling live video. Broadcast Pix is based in Billerica, Massachusetts, with offices throughout North America and in Europe. Customers include over 700 leading broadcast, web-cast, pod-cast, cable, entertainment, mobile, corporate, education, religious and government studios in 50 countries. See www.broadcastpix.com.
