VS-1616D - Now One of the Market's Fastest Switchers
Posted on Friday, August 8, 2014
The new Firm Ware (FW) update for the VS-1616D unleashes the power of fast switching. In addition, it adds a variety of other features such as the ability to set non-HDCP mode setting on inputs, DVI/HDMI mode on outputs and to limit the color depth on the outputs as well as enabling HDBaseT XTRA range options, support for K-Router Plus and other improvements.
The new Firm Ware (FW) update for the VS-1616D control and the VS-1616D keyboard, when used in combination with the new FW for the input and output cards, allows the user to select between 3 levels of switching speed. When using high performance display devices, the Fast and Ex-Fast modes allow for fraction-of-a-second switching. Depending on the display device in use, the VS-1616D enables fast switching (with a minor reset while the connection is kept alive) and extra fast switching (with no reset while the connection is kept alive). The VS-1616D is now one of the fastest video switchers in the market.
The new FW for the HDBaseT input and output cards (HDBT-IN2-F16 and HDBT-OUT2-F16) allows setting XTRA range mode, for use with resolutions up to 1080p60@24bpp. When deep-color is not required, HDBaseT installations can now be extended up to 590 ft. (180m) utilizing Kramer BC-HDKat6a cables, when paired with compatible devices such as the Kramer TP-580RXR and TP-580TXR.
The new FW for compatible input and output cards allows setting HDCP support OFF on the input cards to force devices to fail HDCP negotiation and issue non-HDCP content, to be seen on non-HDCP displays (such as DVI Monitors) and video conferencing codecs (particularly important with many Apple products).
