One Systems CrossField Array-2 Loudspeakers Deliver for World Cable Ski Championship Schloss Danken, Germany - The World Cable Ski Championship was recently held at the Schloss Danker Holiday Centre located Germany's Emsland region. The resort is located on the banks of the Dankernsee, one of the largest lakes in the region, which features an 800 meter (2,640 feet) cable system for water skiing and wake boarding.

One Systems German distributor, S.E.A. Vertrieb & Consulting, GmbH, supplied One Systems' CrossField Array-2 (CFA-2) loudspeakers to provide sound reinforcement for the four-day Cable Ski Championship event.

"We placed two CFA-2 loudspeakers across the lake from the resort and the results were exceptional," explains Matthias Bremer, technical director at S.E.A. "Speech was crystal clear throughout the area along with crisp sound for background music - it was outstanding."

The CFA-2 was designed to provide high intelligibility with plenty of output for long throw applications. The CFA-2 provides a nominal 55-degree horizontal by 30-degree array and it features a fully rotatable high frequency waveguide. This allows the CFA-2 to be used in either vertical or horizontal orientation while still providing the desired coverage pattern.

The CrossField Array-2's HF section is comprised of two large-format, close-spaced compression drivers coupled to a 2-inch (50.8 mm) constant-directivity horn. The low frequency section is equipped with four bandwidth-optimized 10-inch woofers equipped with 4-inch voice coils that are arranged in a 2 x 2 array and provide substantial low frequency output.

The CFA-2 is a direct weather design that features a three layer stainless steel grille assembly. The CFA-2's enclosure is constructed of laminated fiberglass and has heavily reinforced, high safety factor structural rigging points molded into the enclosure's shell.

"It is astounding how far the CFA-2 loudspeakers can throw and still maintain intelligibility," Bremer enthuses. "The International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation had never experienced a direct weather system that was this powerful and sounded as good as it did. They were very pleased."
