University of Rhode Island Upgrades With One Systems

Nashville, Tennessee - University of Rhode Island in Kingston, RI recently upgraded the sound system at Meade Stadium, home of the Rams football team with One Systems speakers.

University of Rhode Island hired Providence, RI based ATR/Treehouse, New England's preferred source for event production, rental, sales and installation of professional audio visual, sound, lighting and staging equipment for 25 years, to complete the design and installation of the new system. After considering various speaker brands, ATR/Treehouse chose products from One Systems, a leading manufacturer of "direct weather" loudspeaker systems.

When school officials ATR/Treehouse contacted for the installation, they were in desperate need of a weatherproof sound system capable of full range audio performance. Hector Morel, Project Manager, Mike Tibbits, Technician, Laurence Coch, System Engineer, CTS, DMC-E, Crestron Certified Programmer, and Dylan Costa worked with URI to design the ideal solution.

As the ATRTreehouse team began designing the system's layout, they chose to mount the speakers on top of the media booth, which offered a great midpoint location to ensure even field coverage and projection. The speakers chosen were 112IMs and each speaker was mounted onto the roof using One Systems' specially designed stainless steel U-Brackets. In the 5,180-seat stadium the new speakers project sound for both the home and visitor's sides of the field and they deliver flawlessly.

"The client is especially pleased with the performance of the speakers," reflects Coch. "One Systems speakers sounded great even right out of the box, and we were blown away by the clarity, coverage and level we got. ATRTreehouse has had such success with the One Systems speakers that they have created several specifications utilizing these since the URI project."
