Vaddio Releases Quick-Connect PRO Broadcast Camera Cabling System

MINNEAPOLIS, MN (April 14, 2008) – Vaddio, the leading manufacturer and OEM distributor of specialty PTZ cameras and high-end camera control systems used in the broadcasting, audio/visual and videoconferencing industries, announced today the introduction of the new Quick-Connect PRO Broadcast Camera Cabling System.

The Quick Connect PRO broadcast camera cable system provides an easy way to install Sony® Broadcast PTZ cameras up to 500 feet (152.4 m) away with standard CAT-5 cables. Based on Vaddio’s High Speed Differential Signaling™ (HSDS) technology, the Quick-Connect PRO system provides for a high bandwidth, low loss video signal distribution to ensure HD video quality (up to 1080p) with cable runs up to 500 feet.

Camera video signal calibration can be achieved by using the Y-Gain potentiometer for adjusting luminance gain over the entire cable distance – and the 4-Position skew switch to compensate for signal loss, based on cable distance. Other features include RS-232 input/output camera control ports to support daisy chain camera control and an IR port for signal forwarding from the PTZ camera’s IR sensor.

“High definition video requires a signal transport the can handle the bandwidth required to deliver component signals from the camera to the control room.  Vaddio’s High Speed Differential Signaling allows HD or SD video to be extended up to 500 feet with virtually no signal loss.”   Stated Rob Sheeley, president of Vaddio.  “In addition, power is fed to the camera over CAT-5 cabling, making the system easy to install because there is no AC outlet at the camera location.”
