Spectrum Sound Chooses Vaddio WallVIEW CCU H700 Systems for High Definition Church Application

MINNEAPOLIS, MN (November 18, 2008) – Vaddio, the leading manufacturer and OEM distributor of camera control systems, provided Spectrum Sound, a professional audio equipment and services company based in Nashville, Tenn., with a complete WallVIEW CCU H700 high definition video solution for Gladeville Baptist Church, located in Gladeville, Tenn.

The primary purpose of the WallVIEW CCU H700 system installation was to provide image magnification during all aspects of church service, including baptisms, baby dedications, worship songs, sermons and more.

The projection and hallway system are designed to display high definition video content primarily from four cameras and two computers in the sanctuary. There are three 16:9 aspect projection screens positioned on stage, as well as hallway monitors to enhance the full worship experience. The larger on-stage screen in the center will display lyrics and message text, while the left and right screens will display camera shots and/or text. The production control room, where the services are recorded, is located on the main floor, directly under the front-of-house position, while the upstairs front-of-house position contains lighting, Keynote and FOH audio positions.

Taking Control of the Situation:
“Because there’s a variance in light levels depending on what’s taking place during the service, we wanted to have the capability to control the cameras,” explained Video Systems Engineer for Spectrum Sound, Jeff McGee. “Vaddio’s CCU allowed the church to accomplish this while staying within the budget set aside for the project.”

The WallVIEW CCU H700 systems are built around the Sony BRC-H700 high definition pan/tilt/zoom camera, with three CCD megapixel sensors and a 12X optical zoom lens. Vaddio’s Quick-Connect CCU enables the user to adjust the color, gain and iris functions of the H700, with just the turn of a knob. In addition, the Quick-Connect CCU’s cabling system allows the integrator to use standard CAT 5 cabling to run both HD and SD video, camera power, black burst sync and camera control up to 500 feet.

“The introduction of the CCU to the WallVIEW line sealed the deal for us,” said McGee. “The CAT 5 cabling is nice, and the CCU capability was the added benefit that rounded out the whole product package. Ultimately we ended up with a much quicker, neater installation with less labor costs.”
