Videotel Inc. Introduces Interplay Module for Industrial Media Players The new module is designed to create interactive digital signage to advertise, educate and engage audiences.

Videotel Inc., a manufacturer of industrial and commercial upscaling HD DVD players based in San Diego, Calif., announced the debut of its new Interplay Module (IPM). The new IPM connects to the company’s VP68, VP71, VP77 and HD2600 industrial-grade digital media players, optimizing them for interactive digital signage. The IPM allows users to trigger specific video content with the touch of a button, use of a motion sensor or the company’s exclusive wave-to-play device, the company said.

According to Videotel, the plug-and-play functionality allows for easy conversion of its line of industrial multimedia digital players with the use of a standard four-pin phone cord. The IPM control board includes small push buttons allowing a connection of up to eight different mechanical buttons or motion sensors.

“Videotel is very excited to introduce the new interplay module to the industry,” Lisa Schneider, vice president of business development and market strategy, said. “By offering your audience the ability to trigger preferred content within a playlist, we believe the interactive experience is beneficial in any vertical market, including retail, hospitality, healthcare, government agencies and others."
